Chalk Paint wax
For the very best finish on your chalk painted furniture use Mezzie and Frank’s 200g Carnauba Wax.
Carnauba wax creates a superior furniture wax that is harvested from the rainforests in Brazil where the leaves give up their wax as bees give honey. This wax sets so hard that hot drinks can be applied to surfaces. Allow the full curing period of 21 days. Carnauba wax can be used on all your furniture – not just on chalk painted pieces. Produced my the 100% Australian Mezzie and Frank in southern Queensland, this wonderful product is the superior one of its kind. Harder than beezwax, this really is the finishing touch for any piece of your furniture.
How to use
You should apply Carnauba wax immediately after completing a piece with chalk paint. This then sets the chalk paint. In 21 days time, the surface will remain smooth and soft to the touch, while in fact being really hard. The pictured chair, writing desks, mirror and stands were all set with Mezzie and Frank Carnauba Furniture Finishing Polish. Apply the wax directly using either a brush or cotton fabric rag. Do not use something that will shed at all. Work the wax in using a circular motion and complete a small area at any one time, immediately going back over and buffing it up with a second cotton cloth. You will feel a little resistance as you buff. When the resistance gives way to a smooth feeling you know you have worked in your finishing polish.
Not only for finishing off projects on timber, this furniture wax can also be used on fabrics, making it possible to chalk paint chairs, lounges and ottomans that can all then be set with Carnauba finishing polish.
